For decades, Vaio has been known as a popular laptop computers brand unit owned by Sony. However, recently, Japan Industrial Partners, a Japanese investment firm took over the ownership of the brand and began launching new set of Android powered smartphones under the brand name Vaio. The brand uses Japan Communications’ sales channel to sell out these recently launched Android smartphones.
The first smartphone offering from Vaio was the Vaio Phone VA-10J, which was launched in the month of March in 2015. The device boasts of a 5.0 inches touchscreen display with a resolution of 720 pixels x 1280 pixels. The device runs on a 2 GB RAM and is powered by 1.2 GHz Quadcore Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, with an internal storage memory of 16 GB, which is expandable up to 64 GB via external micro SD card. The phone has a 13 MP primary camera and a 5 MP secondary camera for shooting selfies. The device runs on Android version 5.0.
The latest smartphone launch by Vaio is the Vaio Phone Biz, a Windows 10 powered smartphone, which was launched in the month of February in 2016. The device boasts of a screen size of 5.50 inches with a 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution. It runs on 1.2 GHz octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor and comes loaded with 3 GB of RAM. The internal storage memory of the device is 16 GB, which can be expanded up to 64 GB using external micro SD card. It has a 13 MP primary camera and a 5 MP secondary camera for shooting selfies.
