Founded in the year 1979 by Venugopal Dhoot, Videocon is an Indian conglomerate, centered on manufacturing consumer electronics, mobile phones, home appliances, wireless services, etc. It has its headquarters situated in Mumbai in the Indian state of Maharashtra. While the company has around 17 manufacturing units spread all across India, it also has many manufacturing plants situated overseas, in places like Italy, Poland, Mainland China, as well as Mexico.
Coming to the mobile phones division of Videocon, the company had first launched its new mobile collection in the year 2009 and ever since then had gone on to produce first line basic mobile phones to high-end smartphones, powered by Android operating system from Google. Coming to the high-end genre of Videocon phones, the company in the year 2015 launched its high-end smartphone, Videocon Krypton 3 V50JG, which boasted of features like being powered by Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system, 5 inch HD display with multi-touch Dragontail X 2.5 curved glass, 4G VoLTE, and Quad-core 64 bit processor, among other prominent features.
The same year in the month of July, Videocon launched its first ever own flagship smartphone, called the Videocon Infinum Z 51+ in India. Some of the other most popular Videocon handsets include Videocon Cube 3 4G VoLTE, Videocon Octa Core Z55 Dash, etc.
