Studying B.Tech.from KSOU is an excellent idea. They offer different specialisation like B.Tech in fire and safety, computer science, civil, mechanical, electrical, chemical, Electronics and telecommunication and Textile technology.
The basic qualification required for admission is same for all the specialisation. The student needs to pass 10 + 2 from a recognized council or board with Physics, Mathematics and chemistry. One can also take a direct admission in second year for any specialisation if they have previously completed a BSC course with Mathematics as one of their main subjects.
The duration of the programmes for normal students is of 4 years from the day of enrolment. There will be a total of 8 semesters. However, Lateral entry students, will just have to attend 6 semesters i.e. a 3 year course. The students need to complete their programme with the given duration.
KSOU follows a strict and inflexible scheme of examination. Students are given assignments. These assignments, in the form of Internal Assessment carry 25% weightage. The final term examination will have a 75% weightage. The total mark of each paper is 100 and the passing mark is 40.
