Here’s a good news for everyone seeking for booking last minute tickets, because now, Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corp (IRCTC) has made it convenient for passengers to book Tatkal tickets, by giving them the option of booking first and paying later.
Until now, the book first pay later option was available only for general reservations, while passengers who were booking tickets under Tatkal quota had to make their payment first through standard online payment gateway before the IRCTC portal could confirm their Tatkal tickets.
However, in this welcome change, now IRCTC users can make their payments via options like, debit card, credit card, net banking, and cash—wherein they can now opt for their Tatkal tickets to be delivered at their doorstep, according to Anduril Technologies, the payment provider of IRCTC.
Now with this brand new feature, the instances of transaction failures too will reduce, as prior to this, many users had to face technical glitches while booking train tickets under Tatkal quota from the IRCTC website, during which their money was debited instantly, but due to technical failures, their tickets weren’t getting issued. The refund of their money debited took about seven to 15 days, which made it a very time consuming affair. But with this new feature, such issues are expected to get resolved.
