Popular automobile company Nissan India has joined hands with globally famous fashion line United Colours of Benetton to together launch the fashion variant of the Nissan Micra, which is being called, the Nissan Fashion Micra Edition, on Tuesday, the 12th of September, 2017.
The Japanese automobile maker Nissan is surely planning on introducing more interesting elements this festive season for their Indian line of automobiles and while more details on the new fashion variant of Micra are yet to be divulged, the company on its social media profiles has teased a lot of cool and interesting stuff about the same. The tag name used for marketing the Fashion Micra Edition in India is, ‘’Runs on Fashion.’
According to reports, the new variant of the Micra won’t get any major mechanical changes. The major changes will only be limited to the exteriors while the interiors will have few minor changes, in the colour palette. On the mechanical aspect, the variant will continue to offer 1.2L for the petrol variant and 1.5L for the diesel variant in engine options. As per claims made by Nissan, the Micra runs on a mileage of 19.34 Kmpl for the petrol variant and 23.08 Kmpl for the diesel variant.
So far, Nissan Micra has performed quite well in India, being one of the successful models and also played a key role in exports. In the span of financial year 2016-2017, Nissan sold a total of 80,038 units in India and made a total of 70,665 units in export. India however won’t be getting the new generation of the Nissan Micra, which is currently already up for sale in the UK and European automobile markets.
At present, the Nissan Micra is priced between Rs. 5.99 lakhs- Rs. 7.36 lakhs, and the fashion edition of the car will reportedly cost over Rs. 15,000-Rs. 20,000 of the current price.
