According to Ranbir Kapoor, the upcoming biopic on Sanjay Dutt is not a propaganda to portray him as a god. He hasn’t been a hypocrite regarding the incidents and situations in his life, rather has been very insightful providing the honest details of his own life for the upcoming biopic managed by Rajkumar Hirani. Also, this biopic aims to focus on the different highs and lows in the actor’s life.
Ranbir has shown genuine empathy towards Dutt while responding to PTI saying that the biopic would be covering almost all the nitty-gritty details of Dutt’s life including his downfalls, perils, time in prison, combativeness, issues related to terrorism, his drug-addiction phase, his mother’s death two days prior to the release of his debut film, Rocky (1981) and his relationship with his father. Ranbir states these as “human conflicts in life”, thereby, encouraging his fans’ respect for him.
Ranbir is inspired by the movie
Ranbir states that getting the right look for Dutt was extremely superficial. It could be perfected by makeup and graphics; however, a biopic is known to show the human side of an individual. It doesn’t necessarily glorify the life of Dutt’s life but showcases a more down-to-earth inclusion of his life’s details portraying his pitfalls and success simultaneously.
Subsequently, Ranbir has been very excited and inspired while doing the film. He is eager to witness the audience’s reaction on ‘Jagga Jasoos’ to be released on March 30, 2018. He has toiled to perfect the look of Dutt for this movie.
Sanjay Dutt’s impact on the movie
Despite his downfalls and considerable controversies, Sanjay Dutt is much loved and respected even today. Ranbir feels cushioned working with a director like Rajkumar Hirani and a writer like Abhijat Joshi. He is expecting this duo to work wonders with the very talented actor, Sanjay Dutt.
Ranbir says that the film is specifically going to focus on Dutt’s life and portray him not as a hero but as a human. Instances from ‘Rocky’ and ‘Munnabhai MBBS’ are to be included in the upcoming biopic, too.
